Find the assembly on the item list, right click and select quick report, double click on the assembly build you want to change.
That brings the build up on the screen, click in the number built and change it. Click save and then yes to the do you want to save the changes.
That lowers the build and returns unused parts to inventory, at least in 2006premier.
