When an assembly is built, the cost of that assembly is set. QB adds up the average costs of all items in the BOM and that becomes the assembly cost.
Average cost is not necessarily the cost you see posted in the BOM. The cost you see posted in the BOM comes from the cost block on the item screen of each item. That cost block is usually the most recent purchase cost, NOT average cost.
